I’m Sarah, Ellie’s mum. Happy New Year to you all and a big welcome to all the new families.

As you all know, the Pre-school is a charity and we rely on fundraising activities to pay for ‘extras’ such as play equipment and refurbishing existing facilities. We need the support of parents to organise and run these activities; any help you can give is very much appreciated. PLEASE do get involved, it really does make a difference!

Here are some different ways you can support the Pre-school:

Support our Events

Some dates for your diary:

Race Night – Friday 27th March – Join us for a night at The Races! Place your bets on the horses, watch race-goers compete to be the first to wind their horse to the finish line, and enjoy a meal and a drink (alcohol and soft drinks available). This is our main fundraising event of the year so round up your friends, book the babysitter and join us for a fun night out! More details to follow.

Green Park Mini Mile & 10K – Sunday 10th May – This is a lovely opportunity for the children to take part in a sponsored race to raise money for the Pre-school, plus there’s a 10K for the parents to take part in too. More info can be found here: https://www.reading10k.co.uk/ If you’re reading this and thinking running is not something that you can do, then this app is a great place to start: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/get-running-with-couch-to-5k/ It’s suitable for everyone and if you’ve never run before, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Set yourself a challenge while raising money for Pre-school at the same time!

Corporate Fundraising

Do you work for a company that has a Match Funding Scheme, such as Vodafone, Thames Water or Microsoft? If your organisation would be willing to use this to boost our fundraising efforts, it would make a big difference. Please do let me know.

Moving Home

Bridges Estate Agent is a long-term supporter of the Pre-school and we really value their support. They are generously offering to donate 15% of their fee to Pre-school for every house sold through parents, friends or relatives. So please do ask Bridges for a referral if a move is on the cards in 2020

Online shopping

A really easy way to support us is by choosing to do online shopping through https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ Thousands of retailers are on the site, including Argos, M&S and John Lewis and they will make a small donation to Pre-school every time you shop. This is at no cost to you. Search for ‘St Andrew’s Preschool, Reading’ when signing up for your free account.

That’s it for now. You can email me at fundraising@standrewspreschoolcaversham.onmicrosoft.com or chat to me at drop-off. New ideas for fundraising activities are always welcome so please do get in touch.
