Welcome back. I hope that you have all had a relaxing half term.

We are looking forward to spending more time outside over the next few weeks as Spring approaches. We are going to be busy planting and tidying the garden with the children during the coming half term. Gardening is an activity that they always thoroughly enjoy. If you wish to donate any spare bulbs, seeds, or small plants, the children would really enjoy planting them! We would also be grateful for some help in our garden over the next few weeks. The jobs include painting/treating the benches and replacing and filling planters.

We will shortly be arranging our Parent Consultations. These short meetings will take place towards the end of this term. For the last couple of years, these meetings have replaced an Easter report. It is a good opportunity to chat to your child¡¦s Key Person and to discuss Tapestry. We will send out the date/s as soon as possible.

Other events this half term include World Book Day on Thursday 1st March 2018. We will hand out book vouchers at the beginning of the week. We will also have a dressing up day to mark World Book Day on Friday 2nd March.

Termly reminders:

  • Please remember to name your child’s coat, shoes and boots
  • It is a good idea to bring in waterproof trousers or outfits as outdoor play in the garden will no doubt be wet and messy this half term!
  • Don’t forget to check the coloured boxes for items left behind at the end of the sessions and frequently check the art folders in the front hall for drawings, paintings and some craft items
  • When collecting your child at the end of the session, please do not call, or beckon them across the room. Children need to remain on the carpet until parents or carers go over to collect them. This ensures that they remain safe and secure with us until you arrive. If anyone else is going to collect your child, please inform them of this arrangement too.

Thank you all and have a lovely second half of the Spring term.

Hilary
